Room for Dying Offerings

 Room for Dying Offerings

At my West Palm Beach studio nestled within Treefall, and other locations in Palm Beach County, I offer two distinct experiences for exploring death and dying: The Obituary and Death Cafe. Both invite meaningful reflection, but they differ in structure, setting, and purpose. To learn more about why I created Room for Dying, please read this introduction.

The Obituary: A Guided Reflective Writing Experience

The Obituary is a private, creative offering held in my studio at Treefall. The Obituary is by appointment only. It invites individuals—or small groups—to engage in a reflective process, using the structure of an obituary to explore identity, loss, transition, and legacy.

This is a guided experience that may serve as a personal ritual, a release, or a creative act of meaning-making.

  • Location: Treefall

  • Structured and intentional format

  • One-on-one or shared with a trusted friend or small group of friends

  • Includes a workbook with prompts, time for reflection, and guided meditations

The Obituary is not counseling or therapy. It is a contemplative practice rooted in story, memory, and presence. Click the link below to schedule your experience.

Death Cafe: Conversation Without an Agenda

Death Cafe is a group-directed conversation held in a relaxed and respectful setting various locations throughout Palm Beach County. It provides a space where people—often strangers—can come together to talk openly about death, with no agenda, no objectives, and no conclusions.

As an End-of-Life Doula and a death awareness advocate, I host these gatherings as part of Room for Dying, my ongoing studio project that explores how we prepare for, engage with, and integrate the reality of death in modern life.

  • Location: Various (See Eventbrite page)

  • Shedule: Offered periodically via Eventbrite and elsewhere. Subscribe to the Substack for updates.

  • No agenda or advice

  • Community-based, conversational format

  • Increases awareness of death to help people make the most of life

  • Confidential, inclusive, and not-for-profit

  • Lightly facilitated to encourage openness and respect

  • Cost: FREE

Please note: Death Cafe is not a grief support group or counseling session. While themes of loss may arise, the space is not intended for acute bereavement or therapeutic support. A grief support resource is GriefShare.
